The Queen v GL
GL was charged with one count of 'assault occasioning actual bodily harm', an offence that carries a maximum penalty of 5 years imprisonment.
The charge was laid in relation to a brawl that occurred at the Sutherland Shire Pub. Christopher Cole sent representations to the NSW Polie to withdraw the charge against his client prior to the matter proceeding to a defended hearing. He raised issued of 'self-defense', as well as the unreliable version provided by the alleged victim.
The charges were withdrawn against GL, who maintained his clean record and good character in the community.
