Two counts of sexual intercourse without consent, bail granted

The Queen v ZG

ZG was charged with two counts of 'sexual intercourse without consent' contrary to the Crimes Act 1900. He was refused bail by police and the presiding Local Court Magistrate.

An application was made by Mr Christopher Cole to the Supreme Court to grant ZG bail. The judge accepted the application and granted ZG be released on strict conditional bail. This allowed the defendant to adequately prepare for his trial, which is pending in the Wollongong District Court.
